Greek man held after girlfriend beheaded:

ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- A 31-year-old man killed his girlfriend on the Greek island of Santorini on Sunday, beheaded her, then fled in a patrol car, a local official said.

During the ensuing chase, the suspect was shot five times by police and ran over two women doctors who were riding a motorcycle before he was caught, the official said.

The suspect, Athanassios Arvanitis, a cook at a local restaurant, is undergoing surgery at an island hospital, said Chrysanthos Roussos, head of the Santorini district on the island.

Neighbors said that, following a heated argument, Arvanitis beheaded his girlfriend's dog with a butcher knife, then killed and beheaded the woman.

The victim, 25-year-old Adamantia Karkali, worked as a teacher at a local village.

When a policeman tried to handcuff him, the suspect knifed the officer and flung the woman's head into a patrol car, Roussos said. The policeman was only slightly injured, police said.

Arvanitis then made off in a second patrol car and ran over the motorcycle before he was caught, Roussos said. One of the two doctors suffered multiple fractures, Roussos said. The other was uninjured.

As the police fired at Arvanitis to stop him, a stray bullet hit a woman bystander, injuring her slightly, police said.

LITTLETON, N.H. -- A Littleton teenager charged with soliciting sex over the Internet faces new charges involving his pet dog.

Ryan Taber, 17, turned himself in to police on Tuesday, the day after police removed the dog from his home.

He was charged with cruelty to animals after police said they found a large number of pornographic pictures involving the dog on the teen's computer.

He also was charged with computer pornography for 39 images that appeared to feature children.

So not only is he a dogfucker but he's also a pedophile. That kid is just broken and needs to be removed from society permanently. The other day I about broke down because a kitten crawled up into my car and fell out onto the road on my way to work (it survived) and this scumbag doesn't think twice about fucking his golden retriever? 'They' should put him down like Old Yeller. He was more than likely a serial predator in the making.

Animal Control Officer Resigns Over Charges of Drowning Almost 50 Kittens:

ADELANTO, Calif. — A top animal control officer outside of Los Angeles has resigned as he faces charges in the drowning of nearly 50 kittens.

Kevin Murphy, a head of animal control in Adelanto, Calif., was placed on paid leave in March after prosecutors accused the 36-year-old of drowning the kittens over a four-month period. He faces six counts of animal cruelty.

In case you haven't figured it out by now we like cute fluffy kittens here at News of Doom and we don't take kindly to animal abusing scumbags like you.

Dad accused of forcing girl to kill pet cat:

MUNCIE, Indiana (AP) -- A man was jailed Thursday on charges that he forced his 7-year-old daughter to kill the family cat by holding a knife in her hand and making her stab the pet.

Danield J. Collins, 39, told his children during a visit to his home Sunday that he wanted them to "learn how to kill" and gave his 11-year-old son a knife to do it, according to an affidavit filed in the case.

The boy tried to save the cat by hiding it under a sofa bed and putting ketchup on a knife when Collins went to the bathroom. But when the father realized that the cat was not dead, he forced his daughter to hold the knife and then held her hand tightly as he drove the knife into the animal, Muncie police Detective Jami Brown said.

Police said Collins stabbed and strangled the cat himself, and told his son to throw the dead pet in the trash. Officers retrieved the carcass to be used as evidence.

The children told family members about the incident Monday, the day after the alleged killing, according to the affidavit. The children told police that their father was drunk when they arrived at his home and that he's a different person when he's sober, it said.

We're cat people here at News of Doom HQ so we take stories like this very personally. I wouldn't be held responsible for my actions if someone plunged a knife into one of my buddies. We're also parents so we can't understand what part of Collins' brain is missing that would make him do this. I don't buy the alcohol excuse because I've been drunk before and never wanted to make my kids kill a cat.

One point for trying to make your son do it, another point for actually making your daughter do it, another point for being a lousy drunk, another point for finishing the cat off yourself. That's four.

Police: Man Drills Into Dog's Head:

PLAINVILLE, Conn. -- A man drilled holes in a pit bull's head as punishment for biting his son, police in Plainville said.

According to Plainville police, Saverino Cruz, 32, drilled several holes in the dog's head using a power drill after the dog bit Cruz's 8-year-old son earlier in the day. Plainville police said two brothers are being charged in the incident.

Police said the chain of events unfolded on Sunday when Cruz's brother, Enrique, the owner of the dog, was watching his nephew, Nick.

Baby somehow got out of a cage in the basement and bit the 8-year-old in the arm. Nick was rushed to an area hospital and was released a short while later.

When officers got to the house, they found another dog -- a 4-month-old puppy, police said. Both dogs were malnourished, unlicensed and not vaccinated, police said.

While we're no fans of pit bulls here at News of Doom these dogs deserved better.

Mr. Cruz may get his hole drilled where he's going.

The baby was taken to the hospital but the baby's condition was not released. Not only should this guy get the wood chipper but it should be a rusty wood chipper.
