De Pere man charged in sex assault of 4-year-old:

A 32-year-old De Pere man was charged Tuesday with three felonies for videotaping himself having sex with a 4-year-old girl.
Shawn Carnahan was arrested about 2:40 a.m. Saturday after his brother provided authorities with the videotape he found inside Carnahan's North Broadway apartment. The man had recently moved in with Carnahan and was looking for something to watch on TV when he discovered the tape, according to the criminal complaint filed Tuesday.
In the video, Carnahan has a sexually explicit conversation with the girl before having sex with her on an ottoman. Investigators believe the tape was made between May 2004 and August 2004 when the girl would have been 4 or 5 years old.
Authorities recorded three messages Carnahan left for his brother after learning the tape was missing. In the second message, Carnahan told his brother "Don't do anything (expletive) stupid or you are going to regret it! I need to know what you did with it. You at least owe me that."
In the third message, Carnahan said, "Sorry you found what you found. I know that I screwed up … I will have to live with it the rest of my life, but you have to call me and let me know what happened," according to the complaint.
I have to give the brother props for turning his own brother in. Not a lot of people would do that. Trust me, over at MyCrimeSpace I get enough family members of sex offenders who blame everyone but the actual criminal.
One point for the assault, another point for taping it, another point for threatening your own brother for finding the tape, and one last point for the fake remorse. That's four.
