24-Day-Old Baby Beaten; Parents Charged:

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The parents of a 24-day-old infant are charged with felony child abuse after doctor's found that the infant had multiple skull fractures and other previously broken bones.
Deputies said the baby’s father, Brian Hollingworth, of Lyman, took the baby boy to Allen Bennett Hospital on Sunday to be treated for what he described as seizure like behavior. The infant was transferred to Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
Doctors said besides the skull fractures, the baby’s leg and several ribs had been fractured at an earlier date.
Investigators said the infant's mother, Destiny Renee Carswell, changed her statement several times during an interview with investigators on Monday afternoon.
Here's what I don't get. Why would anyone carry a life inside them for nine months only to violently shatter such a tiny defenseless life?
One point for the abuse, another point for trying to deny it, times two for each 'parent'. That's four.
