Death penalty sought in murder of Amelia Sookdeo

Death penalty to be sought in girl's killing:
In the long and storied tradition of News of Doom we've only followed two crimes consistently. The first being the murder of Jennifer Parks by Jonathan Zarate and the second being Esmie Tseng stabbing her mother to death. I usually only consistently follow a crime when it generates enough discussion on this site that leads me to believe people want to see additional news on it. Well we now have a third crime to add to the News of Doom annals. That would be the murder of Amelia Sookdeo who was allegedly burned to death by her boyfriend Dane Abdool who allegedly set her on fire after an argument where Amelia thought she was pregnant. I've received feedback from both families in this case. However the news doesn't look too good for Abdool as prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Amelia's murder. Yesterday Abdool was indicted by a grand jury on a first-degree murder charge.

Awww poor Dane, poor amelia. Both of them such good kids:cry::cry::cry: Dane was the best!

And now...More pain-
as if this incident did not bring enough pain to the family and friends of these two kids, We knew Dane was going to get the death penalty but we hoped by some miracle he wouldn't. After all his parents did put alot of pressure on him and obviously Amelia's home life wasn't going so smooth.

Our court system is so gay. and Amelias family is horrible!- they are horrible people!

He got charged with first degree murder already which means death or life in prison. The difference between death and life in prison is the death penalty not only punishes Dane it also punishes his family, life in prison punishes Dane.

Amelias family is feeling pain, the pain of losing a loved one. Why would they want to spread that pain to Danes family?- Is it necessary to make his family feel the same pain? Should his family have to go through what Amelias family is going through?

There are so many kids who looked up to Dane :his little bro, his little sis, myself and many more. We dont want to go through life knowing our alltime hero died because of the death penalty.
I swear Dane was & is a good kid, its just something happened on that night and it went terribly wrong.

ok....who give a damn if dane was a good kid or not...yea maybe he was all sweet an innocent before he set amelia on fire....but who the hell does something like that? it may have been an accident but he said that he taped her up "just to scare her"....trench.....if you can honestly say that this is not inhumane and dane did it on accident then you need help too. He took an innocent life and no matter what....this crime involved dane....and from what we know only dane. if it was "just an accident" how could somebody do nice and sweet poor gasoline all over a 17-year old girl and tape her up?....according to the news he said that he stopped by at the gas station to get the supplies before they got into the argument....yea...premeditated....dont feel sorry for him...he's a murderer....he deserves to die....and he deserves to go through the same pain amelia went through....and for his family...they brought a murderer into this world...and we are all suffering because of what dane did...so they should feel the pain all of us have to go through because of their own son.:mad::evil:

as for dane's advocate....open your eyes....no matter who dane used to be....look who he is now....nobody forced him do to what he did...so stop backing him up because he needs to feel the pain also.

and ya i kno who he is now and now hes gonna get the death penalty, its just that not only he is going to feel the pain but his family will as well. its lik god is punishing his whole family for somehting he did. you guys and i all know the pain it is to loose a loved one, and the beautiful amelias family does too, and now danes family is going to feel it. They cant just forget about him i kno i never will...

Having known Dane for all his life I know what a wonderful person he is. He is the most loving and caring individual who would always give without asking, who was always hugging and kissing family members and letting all of us know that he cares. What happened that unforgettable night? I don't know, but I do know that he does not deserve the death penalty.

There is no excuse what so ever to even set a girl on fire or to even harm her in any way. When it comes to Dane, yeah he mightve been mr. prince charming, but guess what. HE TOOK A GIRLS LIFE. and that my friends, is the true colors of a murderer. All murderers come from good familys with loving parents. Its not anyones fault but their own. So I hope that Dane gets the death penalty. He deserves it. Amelia's life was taken away, the poor girl didnt even turn legal yet. And a self centered man took her life away??? Forget his family, he did it to his family. So if anyone is being hurt, its all because of him. A man who hurts others doesnt think about the people who are going to be affected, only himself. And thats what he did. All my prayers go to to the Sookdeo family, May Amelia rest in peace. I hope you all can find it in your heart to accept this horrible incident, and look at it as Amelia is still with you. Shes just looking down at you and hoping all of you will be happy.

I am Reading these as I do often and I think of watching Amelia, At one time I loved her father very much and she was such a beautiful child so full of life and laughter I think as we often do everyone has forgotten this is not about us as we get into a battle of words with each other but about a young woman who was bound by someone she obviously loved and trusted and hurt, betrayed, and terrorized before being put to death with a sentence far less humane than that of a needle in the arm full of juice that puts down a sick animal and I understand before you start cussing at me too, that at one time this young man was sweet and kind and Cool, but lets face it who but a very troubled and sick person could bind another human being pour Gasoline on them hear there pleas for mercy and proceed to put them through that kind of DEATH? Have you ever had a Burn? just a slight one? now just for a moment imagine the pain that That child encountered should any living creature let alone a frightened young Lady have to encounter that???? I think not and do you think there is any hope for someone capable of such a brutal and sick act??? I think not so Although until recently I really had NO opinion one way or the other regarding the Death penalty I now have a very strong opinion and think That the most Humane thing is to relieve A Sick and Suffering Being such as DANE for surely he much be Appalled That he such a wonderful Human Being could have Bought Duct Tape Tied up Amelia Driven to Buy Gas then Poured it on the Same Beautiful Young Girl He had Made Love to and then though her screams SAT He A Blaze I am ill, I think about this Daily as I am sure Many people do None of it can be changed So all we can do is Pray for Amelia Pray for Rita Pray for Andy and The Family Hope That This Justice System is SWIFT and Meets force with Force So No other Family EVER has to encounter something as unbearable as this horrible thing!!!
