Six men have been jailed for a total of more than 17 years for sexual offences involving a girl aged 13.
They took part in sex acts with the girl on beaches, in a car and in a flat after they were introduced to her by Frederick Lawlor, from Abergele, Conwy.

Lawlor, 52, described as the teenager's "evil controller", and another man will be sentenced after psychiatric reports.

The six had treated the girl like a sex object without any thought for her, the judge at Mold Crown Court said.

The court heard the police investigation into the abuse is still going on, and the girl has told officers that she has sex with about 50 men in all, organised by Lawlor, who advertised in the magazine Loot.

All six men, from north Wales and the Wirral, sentenced on Tuesday admitted offences including sexual activity with a child.

Richard White, 58, of Old Colwyn, was jailed for three years six months; Eric Craven, 47, from Penmaenmawr, for four years; Ronald Farrington, 45, from Birkenhead ,and James McCoy, of Abergele, both received three year terms; Ronald Roche, 49, of Abergele, was jailed for two years and three months, and David Forshaw, of Rhyl, for one year and nine months.

The panicked child then locked himself in the bathroom and heard another gunshot - from his suicidal dad blowing his brains out - before cops rescued him.

The bloody horror unfolded at around 1:50 p.m. in the pricey apartment complex at 60 Pinnacle Drive in Port Jefferson, Suffolk County cops said.

Police said the crazed 36-year-old dad - who sources and co-workers identified as Alexander Astashkevich - pulled up to the curb of the complex in a black 2000 Mercedes and loudly knocked on the door of his wife's apartment, armed with a 12-gauge shotgun.

"The mother was shot immediately as she opened the front door," said Detective Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick.

Astashkevich then stepped over the lifeless body of his 31-year-old wife, Olga, and went upstairs to see their son, Arthur, a source said.

Although the boy was a flight up, authorities said he "might have seen his mom killed," one source said.

The dad then "sat the boy down, and told him that he was going to kill himself," Fitzpatrick said.

The father also confessed to the child that he had just killed the mother, police said.

At some point, Astashkevich, a Russian immigrant, picked up a cordless phone, dialed 911 "and tried to tell them he killed his wife," a source said. But he wound up handing the phone to his son.

"The dispatcher told the boy 'to get in the bathroom immediately,' which he did," Fitzpatrick said.

From inside the locked bathroom, Arthur reported the slaying of his mom to the operator, who kept the boy on the line. The child then heard another shot - and told the operator he thought his dad had just killed himself.

When cops arrived, they saw the mother's bloody body sprawled in the ground-floor vestibule.

A Campbellsville man released from jail to undergo organ-donor testing has fled. As of Friday, the man has yet to be found.

Officials say the man is facing a life sentence on federal charges and should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to U.S. Deputy Marshal Chuck Gilbert, Byron Keith Perkins, 37, of 124 Dowell St. was scheduled to undergo medical testing Tuesday in Louisville to see if he would be able to donate a kidney to his son.

Gilbert says Perkins was released last Monday from the Oldham County Jail in LaGrange, Ky. at 8:30 a.m. but never showed up for the testing and hasn't been seen since.

A knife was held to the throat of a 14-month-old girl as a pair of thieves robbed her grandmother.
Two men threatened the child with a six-inch kitchen knife as they stole a purse from the 47-year-old woman.

The victim was walking with the girl in a pushchair in Dawlish Road in Reading, Berkshire, on Friday when the robbers stopped them and asked for the time.

The victims escaped uninjured from the "extremely upsetting" robbery, from which the attackers made just £85.

A Queens father is accused of beating his 3-month-old son so severely that the child suffered bleeding on the brain, broken ribs, a broken leg and other injuries, cops said yesterday.
Jerome Wiza, 27, was arrested last evening after sources said he confessed to assaulting the baby in the family's Woodside home.

Police said Wiza and the child's 25-year-old mother took the boy to St.John's Queens Hospital on Sunday, saying Wiza had accidentally dropped him.

Medical staff determined that the boy suffered a subdural hematoma - bleeding on the brain - and transferred him to Schneider Children's Hospital for further treatment.

By Tuesday, doctors there realized the boy had even more extensive injuries, including a broken femur, eight broken ribs, a lacerated liver and a broken pelvic bone. He was listed in serious condition.

A Jackson man has pleaded guilty to using an electric shock collar to discipline his 8-year-old stepdaughter.

Prosecutors said Gerald Majeres administered shocks by remote control because the girl was eating her breakfast too slowly.

He faces up to six years in prison when sentenced April 21.

A man in Marion County, Fla., was arrested and charged Wednesday with killing a 51-year-old woman for slamming doors in her apartment and waking him up, according to a police report.

The report said Vito Loiacono was involved in a fight with Betty Shepperd and another man over "slamming doors in her apartment and waking Mr. Loiacono up at night."

When officers arrived at about 5 p.m., the disturbance had ended and Loiacono was sitting on a porch with other neighbors in the complex.

About three hours later, officers responded to another disturbance call at the same address.

When officers arrived they found Betty Shepperd dead in an apartment.

Witnesses told police that they saw Loiacono leaving his apartment carrying a white trash bag. He allegedly tried to give the bag containing his clothes to several people to hide, according to the report.

When tenants refused to take the bag, Loiacono was allegedly seen taking the bag behind the apartment complex and throwing it in a trash bin.

The bag was found a short time later by officers. It contained clothes Loiacono was wearing earlier in the night and a weapon.

Army officials have recommended a court-martial for a Purple Heart recipient accused of stabbing his young wife 71 times with knives and a meat cleaver.

Spc. Brandon Bare, 19, of Wilkesboro, N.C., was charged with premeditated murder and indecent acts related to the mutilation of his wife's remains.

Witnesses testified that Bare had enrolled in treatment programs for anger management and combat stress after his return from Iraq. He had said he was having trouble controlling his anger and didn't like his wife going out and partying, said Michael Collins, a nurse and case manager at Madigan Army Medical Center.

A day before his wife was found dead in the couple's kitchen, Bare told his rear detachment commander Capt. Mickey Traugutt that he was taking a new prescription that made it hard to get up and that he had missed a treatment.

A man who raped his unconscious teenage stepdaughter as she lay dying from a head injury has been jailed for nine years at the High Court in Glasgow.

Sentencing Judge Lord Philip told George McKee, 50, he had committed an "appalling crime" which fills members of the public with "horror".

McKee admitted raping Kerry Muchan, 14, in her Paisley home on 23 July, 2005 while she was unconscious.

Drunken Kerry died soon after the rape from a head injury caused by a fall.

Lord Philip said: "Any sentence I impose has to reflect the revulsion and horror society feels at this kind of behaviour."

Kerry was drunk and had fallen several times before she was raped.

In addition to the nine year sentence, McKee will be monitored for three years after release.

A postmortem examination revealed she was still alive when her stepdad raped her.

It found she had horrific injuries consistent with being raped with considerable force.

The family of a three-year-old girl who was killed in a hit-and-run crash have reacted furiously after the driver was jailed for 12 weeks.

Levi Bleasdale was hit by a stolen VW Golf as she crossed a road with her mother in Burnley on 10 September.

Driver Mohammed Hussain, 26, admitted careless driving, having no licence or insurance, failing to stop and failing to report an accident.

Levi's mother Kirsty Ryan, 22, said the sentence filled her with anger.

She told the BBC: "He says he is praying for me and my family, well I don't want his prayers.

"He's wrecked my daughter's life, he's wrecked my family's life and I don't want him to pray for me at all - it's too late."

Levi was holding her mother's hand while crossing Ormerod Road when she was struck by the Golf.

She was taken to Burnley Hospital and transferred to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in Pendlebury, where she died after her life-support machine was switched off.

The car was found on Thurston Street - where Hussain lived - and he handed himself in five days later.

He was sentenced to four weeks for the handling charge and 12 weeks each for the fail to stop and fail to report charges, to run concurrently. He was also banned from driving for five years.

A disturbing case was discovered Tuesday about a Central Ohio man who allegedly told police he likes to drink the urine of adolescent boys.

Alan Patton, 54, is in jail after allegedly telling Gahanna police that he enjoys drinking urine.

Detective Ron Fithen interviewed Patton after he was arrested while leaving a movie theater last weekend.

"Listening to his describe it, it's like listening to a crack or cocaine addict. He's addicted to children's urine," Fithen said.

According to police, Patton said he's been drinking urine for years.

"He told us he's been doing it over 40 years, since he was 7 years old," Fithen said.

Police said Patton goes to family restaurants and movie theaters and waits for boys in a bathroom stall. Investigators said he shuts off the water to the child-level urinal and puts a cup in the bottom.

Patton allegedly told police that he leaves the stall after the child leaves.

"He goes back and retrieves the cup and drinks the urine," Fithen said.

Police said Patton told them it makes him sick, but that it's almost spiritual to him. He allegedly added, "I like it because it makes me closer to them -- like I'm drinking their youth."

Officials said Patton is a registered sexual predator, who was convicted of rape 13 years ago.
