Reason to Blow Up the World: Once again, I'll defer to the article..
A woman who had been drinking and unhappy with the way her son cleaned his bedroom allegedly punched the boy in the head and attacked him with an extension cord and an ashtray, police said.
The only things missing from that article were the words "meth" and the phrase "trailer park".
Link via FARK with the joke being that the suspect's name is Kim Basinger.

Parents Plead Not Guilty To Abandoning Child On Sidewalk :
Reason to Blow Up the World: I'll defer to the article because it's really strange...
On that morning, the couple returned to a friend's house about 2:30 a.m. About 5:15 a.m., a neighbor saw the couple's SUV parked on the street with the engine running, and their daughter on the sidewalk two feet from the tailpipe, according to the prosecution.
The child, approximately 3 years old, was unresponsive and in a pool of urine when found but was revived and has recovered.
The excuse they gave was that they have 8 kids and it's hard to keep track of them all.
TOF again to Kate.

Mother abandons her son, 7, on the road:
Reason to Blow Up the World:The fact that a mother would abandon her own 7-year-old son on the side of a busy highway because of a dispute over Happy Meals. That's showing your maturity. And what a surprise. She had been drinking.
TOF once more to Kate. Sorry to keep stealing your stuff.

Okla. Sheriff: Boy's Abuse Went Unreported:
Reason to Blow Up the World: The fact that not only a woman would make her own son drink rubbing alcohol, beating him, starving him, and keeping him handcuffed, bound with tape and locked in a closet but also for the fact that DHS did nothing about it when the hospital reported it to them. Granted the hospital should have called police but couldn't someone at DHS tell them that or at least pass it on to police? The agencies that are supposed to protect our children rarely do so.
