BESSEMER CITY --A man has been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly stomping a tiny puppy to death because it wasn't house trained.

Police say a Bessemer City man confessed to killing the chihuahua mix because he was sick of the dog. He allegedly confessed while on his way to jail.

Sherry Thomas said her daughter, Crystal Williams, ran to her house describing what Williams' boyfriend had done to their new puppy.

"My daughter says she heard quite a few bangs, she didn't know what it was til she went out and she saw blood coming out of its mouth," Thomas said.

She says Timothy Loftis hated Tequila, the tiny chihauhua mix puppy that belonged to his girlfriend and 19-month old daughter.

Shirley Williams is Thomas' other daughter and tried to save the puppy.

"Its mouth was cracked. It was thrown a couple of times and then smushed with something he stomped on it," Williams said.

Police say Loftis confessed to "Killing the son of a ..." because he was annoyed the puppy wasn't house-trained, according to police reports. Loftis said he "just got tired of it, and stomped the damn thing."

Shirley Williams said, "He was like 'well it shouldn't have been crappin' and peeing all over the place.'"

Sick son of a bitch. I hope someone stomps on your fucking melon head while you're in the joint. If you can't handle owning a dog then don't get one or, God forbid, do something responsible like finding it a good home or actually, I don't know, TRAINING IT!!!

One point for killing the dog, one more point for previous abuse of the dog, one more point for killing the dog of a child and one last point for being an all around scumbag asshole who can't handle a dog without beating it. That's four.

road trip to Bessemer City? c'mon...we could take the kids and make it a family night. it's called "let's beat the fuck out of the puppy killer".

and before any of you get all self righteous, let me go ahead and make the standard disclaimer that both of our kids are adults.

I'm pretty sure that this guy has no idea that what he did was wrong, and that he was perfectly justified in killing the dog. You might say that he is willfully ignorant, unlike many of the people featured here. At least I get the sense that they know that what they did was wrong, which might explain why they might try to cover up their crimes.

Sadly, I agree with Alston. This guy is a heartless s.o.b. who knows what he did but could care less. I would want to ask this though, what kind of woman dates a jerk like this and has her child around him. You can't tell me that he's this all around awesome guy except for this one incident. It takes a certain kind of person to do this. Next, it could have been the child, sad but true.

Yes, that is animal abuse, no doubt,, and I bet many of you don't even realize how much more abuse goes on,, You may even be helping it go on, without even knowing it,,:'(
